Paul Newey Co-Founder
Paul is one of Britain's most successful and wealthy young entrepreneurs. He led Ocean Finance from its foundation in 1991 up to its sale in 2007 and stood down as CEO in 2009.

During his time at Ocean Paul established the market-leading finance broker by building a strong and respected brand, being innovative in the use of new marketing media, understanding and meeting the needs of customers, and building efficient processes and systems.

Paul is from the West Midlands.
Tim Bullock

Tim Bullock Co-Founder
Tim spent 26 years in banking and finance. Following 6 years in specialist business finance with Barclays, he moved to NatWest where he established Lombard Bank as a leading innovator in marketing and processing techniques. During 14 years as a Managing Director with Lloyds, he led his business through a period of rapid growth to become the most profitable in its sector.

Tim has been involved in executing a number of successful mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. He holds the degree of MSc in Advanced Management.

Tim splits his time between Dorset and London.
Clare Twemlow

Clare Twemlow Chief Financial Officer
Clare is a Chartered Accountant with particular experience in working with high growth companies. She qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their 'Growing Business' group and in 2004 joined one of her clients as Finance Director.

Since 2007 Clare has held CFO positions in a number of healthcare start-up companies including Atlantic Healthcare Ltd, HD Clinical Ltd and Camstent Ltd. She has particular expertise in fundraising and corporate development along with strong commercial and financial management skills.

Clare holds a first class BSc (Hons) from The University of Bristol. Clare lives in Suffolk.

After a period serving as a member of New Wave’s Advisory Board, Clare was appointed CFO in October 2012.
Ian George
Ian George Chief Scientific Officer
Ian has a background in technology commercialisation and early stage healthcare companies. He co-founded Enigma Diagnostics in 2004 & led the company's business development activities. Previously he worked as a consultant at The Technology Partnership and prior to that at the Defence Science Technology Laboratory where he was responsible for the formation of several spin-out companies including Enigma Diagnostics and P2i.

Earlier in his career Ian worked for Unilever Research and Sequa Corp. Ian holds a first class BSc from Cardiff University & completed his PhD at the Roslin Institute, Edinburgh. After a period serving as a member of New Wave Ventures' Advisory Board, Ian was appointed CSO in October 2013. Ian is a non-executive director of several New Wave portfolio companies including Discuva, Cambridge Scientific Innovations, Regenerys & Endomagnetics.
